Issue: On certain vehicles, the radio may not have been manufactured properly and/or there could be a problem with the radio software. As a result, the rearview camera image may not display correctly or at all. Safety Risk: A rearview camera image that doesn't display correctly could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, if necessary, replace the radio. The dealer will also update the radio software, as necessary.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the fuel delivery module could fail and cause a loss of engine power while driving. Note: This problem could cause the malfunction indicator light to turn on. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the fuel delivery module.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the brake booster input rod may not have been tightened properly. As a result, the input rod could detach from the brake booster and cause a loss of brakes. Safety Risk: A loss of brakes can increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners in writing and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to inspect and, as necessary, tighten the brake booster input rod connection or replace the brake booster.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire and loading information label does not list that there is no spare tire in both official languages. The label reads as "NONE" when it should read as "NONE / AUCUN". Canadian regulations require the information to be listed on the label in both English and French. Safety Risk: This error does not affect vehicle safety. Corrective Actions: This is not a recall. The company has corrected the tire and loading information label for all new vehicles.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the connector for the driver and/or passenger-front seat belt buckle sensor(s) could fail and cause the seat airbag(s) to deploy with too much force. Note: This problem would cause the airbag warning light to display on the instrument panel or the seat belt reminder chime and warning light to stay on, even if you're buckled. Safety Risk: An airbag that deploys with too much force could increase the risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the connector for the driver and/or passenger-front seat belt buckle sensor(s).
Issue: On certain vehicles, the tire and loading information label and/or the compliance label may list incorrect tire size and/or tire pressure information. This could lead you to inflate the tires incorrectly and/or install the wrong tires. These errors could lead to poor handling and/or a tire failure. Safety Risk: Poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to replace the tire and loading information label and/or the compliance label.
Issue: In certain situations, the braking system could apply too much force to the brake rotors. If this happens, the brake rotors could crack and suddenly cause reduced braking. Note: This recall only affects vehicles equipped with carbon ceramic matrix brakes. Safety Risk: Reduced braking can cause an extended stopping distance and increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and advise you to take your vehicle to a dealership to update the brake system module (BSM) software.
Issue: On certain vehicles, the housing for the fuel line sensor could crack and leak fuel. If this happens, the engine can stall while driving. Safety Risk: A sudden loss of engine power could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, a fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the build code on the fuel line sensor housing and replace it, as required.
Issue: On a small number of vehicles, there may be a problem with the antilock brake system (ABS) hydraulic control unit. During hard braking, this could cause a sudden loss of brake assist and ABS braking. If this happens, there will be an increase in brake pedal effort that is required to stop the vehicle. Safety Risk: A sudden increase in brake pedal force and a loss of ABS braking could lead to an increase in stopping distance. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective Actions: Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the ABS hydraulic control unit.
Issue: On certain vehicles, there may be a problem with the side airbag curtains. As a result, the side airbag curtains may not inflate properly in a crash. Safety Risk: A side airbag curtain that does not inflate properly could create an increased risk of injury in a crash. Corrective Actions: FCA Canada will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the side airbag curtains.
